Boesendorfer Oscar Peterson Limited Edition Disklavier Grand Piano
SOLD! The Bösendorfer "Oscar Peterson" Signature Edition Grand Piano (serial #50647) is coming to town and will make its Washington area debut on Saturday, November 5 at Strathmore Mansion.
Showcased for the first time earlier this year in Annaheim, California, this limited edition reproducing piano faithfully recreates 13 songs originally recorded in the 1970's by the jazz icon, Oscar Peterson. This stunning piece of musical history pays homage to the late jazz icon, who treasured his own handpicked Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano. Only 12 of these unique instruments will be available for sale world-wide.
The digital recordings, which captured extremely accurate key and pedal data of Mr. Peterson's performances, have been meticulously rescued and converted this year to a modern-day format using Disklavier technology, to be enjoyed once again on this limited edition piano. Hear his "live" performances of songs such as "Tenderly" (Walter Gross), "Take the A Train" (Billy Strayhorn), and "Misty" (Erroll Garner) to name just a few.
"Tears surprised me as the first notes resonated from the piano," reflected Kelly Peterson, Oscar's wife.
Join us at Strathmore Mansion on Saturday, November 5th at 7:30pm for a special concert with renowned pianist Eric Himy and experience both his artistry as well as Oscar Peterson performing "live" on this unique Bösendorfer Disklavier - the only of its kind in the DC area.
