Steinway B Ebony Satin
This is a great sounding 7' Steinway - one of the most unique Steinway B Ebony Satin grand pianos we have come across in many years. Originally manufactured around 1975, the piano was placed into service as part of Steinway's Concert & Artist bank - pianos specifically for use by Steinway Artists for concert performances.
At that time, this model B was slated by the factory for the DC market and resided in the Jordan Kitt's Music concert bank for nearly 30 years. Long-time concert & artist director Emma Hillis (an industry veteran of legendary status who was a personal friend of the late Henry Steinway) oversaw the care of this piano. She provided the instrument only to select orgnaizations such as Washington Performing Arts for artists performing at world-class venues such as The Kennedy Center.
In 2004, the piano was retired from service, as is customary at this age. The piano was purchased by a DC area family during an event in which Henry Steinway (fifth generation from the founder) personally autographed the plate of the piano. The piano is now available for purchase for only the second time in it's relatively young life.
The sound is big and simply magnificent! The case has been buffed out nicely, so it is in very good condition. The action has been fully regulated and the instrument tuned. This is a completely authentic Steinway - all parts are original Steinway NY parts.
After delivery, a free tuning within 60 days in the home is included. Also included is a 5 year parts and labor warranty (same as new) and the matching adjustable artist bench.
