Technically it is also in great shape and is a wonderful example of what made this piano a staple in institutional settings like college and university music schools. Its tall size gives it a big, full sound and a full-size action that is very responsive.
Recently traded in for a grand piano, it will fit perfectly into a smaller space with a footprint that is smaller than a grand piano. The instrument would be ideal for either a player or for someone of any level that has always wanted a high-end piano in their home or studio.
The 1098 model was for years Steinway’s best selling upright piano by far. At much less that the price of a new one, it presents a great value.
